Selma von Polheim Gravesen (born 1991 in Berlin) is a German-Danish cinematographer. She grew up in both countries and completed her studies at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin in 2025. Since 2013 she has been working on film sets, and throughout her studies was responsible for the cinematography of several films screened at international festivals such as Locarno, Tirana, and San Sebastián (SSIFF). Her graduation film Schwesterherz premiered in 2025 in the Panorama section of the Berlinale, was awarded the First Steps Award 2025 for Feature Film, the cinematography was nominated for the Michael Ballhaus Prize 2025, and received the Creative Energy Award for Cinematography and Editing at the Emden Film Festival. Her short film Mother Is a Natural Sinner received the German Short Film Award in 2025. In early 2025 she completed the shoot of her second feature film Body of Glass (dir. Naemi Ada) in France. Her work is shaped by a political and social approach.
